OPTICUM WIDEBAND LEGACY 4 LNC (LNB) – Hybrid solution for modern satellite distribution systems
The OPTICUM WIDEBAND LEGACY 4 is a hybrid LNB that combines two worlds in one component: wideband outputs for modern multiswitch/distribution technology and four additional classic (legacy) SAT outputs for receivers or televisions with integrated satellite tuners. This makes this LNB ideal for new installations, extensions, and conversions where both modern distribution technology and existing end devices are to continue to be used.
Wideband + legacy – what does this mean in practice?
2× wideband (H/V) outputs:
These two outputs deliver the satellite signal as wideband IF (one output each for horizontal and vertical) over the wide frequency range 290–2340 MHz. This is the perfect basis for wideband-capable multiswitches and modern distribution concepts, where the full range of programs remains available with fewer cables.
4× legacy outputs:
The four legacy outputs function as classic universal SAT connections and can directly supply a receiver/TV (IF range 950–2150 MHz). Ideal if existing devices are to continue to be operated without modification.
Strong signal reserve and stable reception
With a gain of 50 to 60 dB (±0.5 dB), the LNB offers a good signal reserve – helpful for longer cable runs, more complex installations, or more challenging reception conditions. The covered input frequency range of 10.7 to 12.75 GHz corresponds to the standard Ku-band satellite range and enables reception of common satellite TV and radio services.
Made for outdoor use: temperature-resistant and robust
The LNB is designed for outdoor use and operates reliably in a temperature range from −40 to +60 °C. The black design blends in inconspicuously with most antenna installations.
Mounting: suitable for standard feed mounts
Thanks to its 40 mm feed, the LNB fits into virtually all standard LNB mounts on satellite dishes. For a permanently trouble-free system, we recommend clean installation with a correctly aligned LNB (skew) and weather-protected F connectors (e.g., with self-welding tape or weather protection sleeves).
Power supply / compatibility
The operating voltage is 9–12 V. Ensure that the receiver, multiswitch, or feed system provides this power supply accordingly, or that the system is designed for this (especially for combinations of wideband distribution and legacy direct connections).
