The QUICK TED1 ionization fan is a compact static eliminator for ESD-sensitive workplaces and is useful wherever disruptive electrostatic charges build up due to air movement, friction, or the handling of plastics and circuit boards. It generates targeted positive and negative ions, thereby neutralizing static charges in the work area – ideal for assembly, repair, rework, visual inspection, packaging, and handling of sensitive electronic components.

With a working distance of 30 to 120 cm, the TED1 can be flexibly positioned on a table, shelf, or at the edge of the workstation without disrupting the workflow. At close range, the device achieves a very good ionization balance of less than ±10 V at 30 cm, in line with ANSI/ESD-S20.20-2014 – suitable for professional ESD environments. Ions are generated with an output voltage of ±2200 VDC, ensuring reliable and uniform neutralization in the air flow.

The fan is designed for daily use in manufacturing and operates in a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C at 40–60 % humidity. With a maximum airflow of 4.6 m³, it not only supports ionization, but also actively brings the neutralizing ions to the components, workpieces, or packaging. The robust, compact housing measuring 19 × 24 × 9.5 cm (W × H × D) and weighing 1.1 kg makes the TED1 quick to implement – even with changing workstations or lines.

A nwendung / Recommended use

1. Positioning: Place or attach the ionizing fan so that the air flow hits the area where charges occur (e.g., workstation mat, component tray, test fixture, packaging zone). The optimal distance is between 30 and 120 cm, depending on the workstation.

2. Align: Direct the air flow towards the critical zone – typically where printed circuit boards, films, plastic housings, blisters, foams, or component trays are handled.

3 Operation: Switch on the device and let it run during the process, especially in dry air or during friction-intensive work steps. Ionization continuously neutralizes charges, which means that components are less “attractive,” dust is reduced, and ESD risks are lowered.

4 Practical tip: Use the TED1 especially in places where ESD wrist straps/mats alone are not sufficient – e.g., with insulating materials, moving films, when removing protective films, or when transferring to ESD packaging.

Typical areas of application

– ESD workstations in electronics manufacturing, rework, and repair
– Visual inspection/AOI rework, handling of printed circuit boards and assemblies
– Packaging/picking of ESD-sensitive components
– Working with plastics, films, blisters, foams, and trays that quickly become charged
